Hampstead Heath is a public open space situated in North London, the capital city of England. With 25 main ponds, areas of ancient woodland, grassland, hedgerows and bog lands, this is possibly one of the most peaceful, and stunning places in the country!

Not only is it a magnificently beautiful patch of land, it has fantastic panoramic views of London, and the London Eye and St. Paul’s Cathedral are fully visible. However, if you are looking for it, you must take a map, there are no signposts within it, or leading up to it!

Hampstead Heath is known as the home of British Cross Country running and it is a popular open space used for as many as 16 different types of organized sport, including cricket, swimming and fishing.

During the Summer, there were music concerts, mostly classical, but also the occasional pop concert, held by the lake. Due to residents complaints, however, these have now been abandoned and because of this, the future of Kenwood House now hangs in the balance. It very much depended on the income of these concerts to survive. It seems a great shame to no longer visit a concert in this area, simply because since 1951(until 2006) there was a concert held every Saturday during the summer!
